{"id":5461,"date":"2026-08-03T13:16:22","date_gmt":"2026-08-03T11:16:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/notam.no\/?post_type=event_listing&#038;p=5461"},"modified":"2026-08-03T13:44:51","modified_gmt":"2026-08-03T11:44:51","slug":"ultima-2026-blodveien-vp-av-knut-olaf-sunde","status":"publish","type":"event_listing","link":"https:\/\/notam.no\/en\/event\/ultima-2026-blodveien-vp-av-knut-olaf-sunde\/","title":{"rendered":"Ultima 2026: The Blood Road (VP) by Knut Olaf Sunde"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Notam\u2019s contribution to the Ultima Festival 2026 is <em>The Blood Path<\/em> by Knut Olaf Sunde. <em>The Blood Path<\/em> is an essayistic concert film, which will have its world premiere at Vega Scene on 17 September 2026. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Music for a landscape that bears its dead.<\/em>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In July 1942, a ship docked at Rognan with Yugoslav prisoners of war on board. A year later, one of them, Milo\u0161 Banjac, was shot and killed by the roadside. His brother Marjan painted a cross on the mountain with his blood. The residents of Rognan still repaint it, so that everyone driving past is reminded of what happened.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Thousands of Yugoslav prisoners held by Nazi Germany were sent to Norway during the war to build roads. The work was brutal. In some of the Norwegian camps, the mortality rate was on a par with the worst in Europe. <em>The Blood Path<\/em>\u202fis a concert film that travels through this landscape \u2013 from the air, by car and on foot \u2013 and asks what it means to pass through a place without knowing what happened there.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Three video channels trace the paths and ruins left behind by the camps. A quiet, textual narrative runs alongside archive maps and photographs, evoking fragments of lives that were cut short.
