On 3 November 2026, Cinemateket and Notam, the Norwegian Centre for Technology, Art and Music, invite you to a truly special concert experience featuring works written for immersive sound, performed using Tancred\u2019s fantastic sound system. In a darkened auditorium, you will hear three unique works that explore the relationship between music and space. This evening will feature new works by Ruth Wilhemine Meyer and Niklas Adam, as well as a historic work by Luc Ferrari. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is the second time that Notam and Cinemateket have collaborated on a concert of this kind.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The complexity of one <\/em>(2026)
<\/strong>Ruth Wilhemine Meyer
WP<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"Complexity of one\" was created using only the composer\u2019s unprocessed voice as sound source, and consists of three movements: grain \u2013 click \u2013 split. The movements consist of three multi-phonic vocal timbres which, in combination with the spatialisation, create an almost tactile musical experience. With this work, Meyer seeks to establish a space for the listener\u2019s inner narratives, whilst simultaneously expressing the complexity within the singular.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ruth Wilhelmine Meyer is a distinctive artist, multi-vocalist and composer who explores her instrument through vocal timbre, drawing on a wide range of expressions and tonal colours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ephemris <\/strong><\/em>(2026)<\/strong>
Niklas Adam<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ephemeris is a synthetic work in which sound and form are created using Adams\u2019 own tool \u2013 Morsel \u2013 an instrument and composition tool for multi-channel granular synthesis. All parameters can be cross-linked and influence one another. The sound organises itself, and the composer becomes more of a cybernetic observer than a composer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Niklas Adam is an artist and composer. He seeks to create situations characterised by an inherent openness, which attempt to break away from traditional patterns of behaviour associated with listening and immediacy \u2013 often in order to explore how perception seeks patterns within the random.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/strong>Luc Ferrari<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Luc Ferrari was a French composer and a pioneer of musique concr\u00e8te and electronic music. Presque rien No. 1, Le lever du jour au bord de la mer is a landmark work in electronic music.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ferrari captures a summer morning in a Croatian fishing village and condenses time and space using field recordings. We hear cicadas, church bells, footsteps and distant conversations. Instead of traditional composition, Ferrari shows us everyday life, demonstrating that music is what we listen to with the intention of hearing music.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
