{"id":5388,"date":"2026-06-18T10:54:17","date_gmt":"2026-06-18T08:54:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/notam.no\/?post_type=product&#038;p=5388"},"modified":"2026-06-18T14:11:40","modified_gmt":"2026-06-18T12:11:40","slug":"verksted-i-videomapping-med-a-li-ce","status":"publish","type":"product","link":"https:\/\/notam.no\/en\/product\/verksted-i-videomapping-med-a-li-ce\/","title":{"rendered":"Video mapping workshop with A-li-ce"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">September 2026 Notam invites you to a four day video mapping workshop with the video artist Claire Fristot aka A-li-ce.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Video mapping, also called projection mapping, is an exciting field combining projection and visual creation, with many opportunities for creative and artistic work, and with the video mapping interface of the software Resolume Arena, you can easily get started with advanced work in a short time.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">During the workshop, individual guidance will be provided along the way, teamwork will be also encouraged.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>The goal of the course<\/strong><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The goal of the course is to provide a fundamental overview of video mapping and especially live video mapping practice, so that participants can produce their own works after the course. If the participants have already used Resolume, this is an advantage, but the course requires no prior knowledge, and both professional practitioners and beginners are welcome.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The course provides thorough training in theoretical foundations, the video mapping interface of Resolume Arena Software, and into the technical and artistic workflow of video mapping. This will be especially useful for artists, musicians, performers, light and stage technicians, scenographers and stage designers, and other people who work with, for example, technology, video, film, sound and music. Students are also warmly welcome.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Video mapping and Resolume Arena<\/strong><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Live Visuals can be described as real-time production and manipulation of visual elements such as video, animation and graphics performed live, often synchronized to sound.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">With video mapping, you add another layer to your creative workflow, and create and design your visual content in combination with the projection surfaces. This can for example be a specific architecture, a room, an outdoor wall, or particular materials you would like to use as projection surfaces. Imagine a specific scenography with a wall and some objects in front of it, you can fill each detail of the real concrete elements with your visual content, following the shapes of the projection surfaces, blending fiction and reality.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The software we use during this course is Resolume Arena, which offers powerful capabilities for advanced projection mapping, multi-screen output, real-time video mixing, and much more. The course combines theory, technique and practical application. You will get a historical overview of video mapping, its use in the art and technology field, and its references in visual arts.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Furthermore, we will look at the technical workflow for video mapping, including video codecs and video projectors. We will also conduct live experiments with projections and different surfaces and materials to build the setup of our projections. During the course, you will have the opportunity to work both individually and collectively. The course ends with a presentation, where we can share the creative process with the audience. We will design the space and the event together.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>About the teacher<\/strong><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Claire Fristot \/ A-li-ce is a Berlin-based visual artist and video artist, with a special focus on audiovisual performance, installation and film.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Her art combines digital and traditional techniques and has been shown at numerous museums and media art festivals, including ZKM, Deutsches Historisches Museum, Goethe Institut Bucharest, CTM-Festival (DE), Stuttgarter Filmwinter (DE), Mapping Festival (CH), Mira (ES), RoBOt Festival (IT) and B-Seite (DE).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Claire Fristot also works with theatre and dance groups as a video scenographer. She has led live visuals masterclasses in art and educational institutions across Europe since 2011, with a particular focus on attracting more women into the field.
