Notam is launching a unique opportunity to participate in two different workshops with playwright and actress Kate Pendry.
In connection to the workshops, Pendry will also make a presentation of her work on Friday afternoon, June 3rd at 6:00 PM.
Workshop 1: The art of manipulation
Do you want to learn how to manipulate an audience? During this workshop with Kate Pendry, you will learn about the power of language and how to harness its seductive qualities. As examples Pendry will be using William Shakespeare and Donald Trump.
Participants will get an introduction to the musicality of the language, and it’s hypnotic elements. You will learn how rhythm, tone and timbre can be used as tools in the alchemy of manipulation, and how language seduces. The workshop is suitable for professional musicians, composers and artists. There is no need for prior knowledge on the subject – all you will need is pen and paper.

Workshop 2: Making of a complex character
Do you want to learn more about character development and how to utilize this in your other creative projects? Then Pendry’s character development workshop might be the thing for you.
In this interdisciplinary workshop, participants will learn various tools for composing a character, and how to transfer this knowledge into their own creative work. In the context of this workshop, a character is to be understood not only as a role, but it can also be a piece or a composition. This is a text-based workshop that is well suited for professional artists, musicians and composers. No prior knowledge of work with role development is required.
Through the workshop you will learn to create a complete and complex character. This is an interdisciplinary workshop where we use knowledge from drama and transfer it on to other disciplines.
