Elie Gregory and Kinga Ötvös to Notams Online Meetup for Artists in Technology March 28

March 28 we have a new Online Meetup for Artists in Technology here at Notam. This time host, Misha Cvijović, will be joined by Elie Gregory and Kinga Ötvös.

The meetup starts at 7:00 PM and you can find a link to the meeting here.

Elie Gregory
Elie Gregory is a composer, producer, and sound artist with roots in Brighton (UK) and Berlin and an educational background in composition and electroacoustic music. Their work spans from glitchy and abstract multichannel electroacoustic pieces and live electronics to electronica and synthpop. Released under the moniker ‘Strip Down’, the album ‘Remakings’ documents their changing voice through means of a duet recorded at different stages of their life. In most recent years their focus has been on collaborating with queer and feminist artists in theatre, performance and choreography to create a space between music and sound, as well as co-producing and remixing songs.

Kinga Ötvös
Kinga Ötvös is a shapeshifter and voice acrobat based in Berlin. With degrees in academic vocal and acting studies their art landed at the confluence of different territories such as music, theatre, drag and performance art. Kinga released an album called "Fluid Oratorio" and an EP “Ice Requiem”. Their music is an attempt to deconstruct form and music creation archetypes. Phrases that are reminiscent of sacral music are competing with cyborg voices in a fluid electronic context of ethereal soft-dark energies. Voice is the core of my compositions and live sets. I build shifting characters in real-time, via acting, performance, and vocal glitches. Genderbent bodies and voices morph constantly within each track. Hardwares and softwares act as extensions of live vocals—hacking, distorting, and reshaping the information they carry, while also keeping emotional information raw and untouched.
