Workshop on Haptic feedback

Haptic feedback is the sensation of vibration and movement embedded in everyday objects such as phones, sex toys, games consoles and the like. It is a sensory language used to convey pleasure, resistance or the arrival of a new message.

In this workshop, participants will explore this technology themselves through the artefacts and electronics used in the exhibition Haptic Fields by Mads Kjeldgaard. The workshop will be a practical experiment with sounds converted to vibrations.

The course is led by composer and artist Mads Kjeldgaard.

Kjeldgaard is a Danish composer, writer and sound artist. His work generally explores presence and time - for the moment with particular emphasis on slowness, silence and environment. As a developer, he has worked both at Notam, and at Torso Electronics.
