Residency at Notam

Do you want to work in Notam's Spatial Audio Studio?

We are now accepting applications for a residency in our Spatial Audio Studio in the spring 2027 (January - April).

With this residency programme, we want to facilitate and support the development of artistic projects within spatial audio and immersive sound. The residency can last up to two weeks, depending on the project.

As artist in residence at Notam, you will work independently, but with access to a strong professional environment and facilities. For this residency, an introduction to the studio will be given. Beyond this it is a prerequisite that you can work independently in the studio, and that you have experience with tools for working with immersive sound. Notams studio is suitable for working with techniques such as ambisonics or VBAP. You can read more about our spatial audio sound studio here: https://docs.notam.no/manuals/studio-3/

You can easily submit an application for the residency by filling out the application form below. The deadline is August 13th 2026. A response from Notam will be available by September 3rd, 2026.

As an artist in residence at Notam, you are free to use your studio time as you wish, but we encourage you to actively participate in the community during your stay. We also encourage artists in residence to share what they have been working on in a small presentation for our staff and other artists in residence.
