Notam Code of conduct

Notam is committed to being a safe, welcoming and inclusive place for everyone, regardless of gender, sexual orientation, ability, cultural background, socioeconomic status or religion.

In this Code of Conduct we outline our expectations of everyone who works at, or with, Notam, as well as the consequences of unacceptable behavior. This code of conduct is not exhaustive. If you have any questions regarding situations that arise, you can consult Notam's administration.

Expected behaviour at Notam
We expect everyone who works at, or with Notam, or who attends events at, or organized by Notam to follow our code of conduct at all times. With this, we expect everyone to:

  • be considerate and respectful in their speech and actions.
  • refrain from derogatory, discriminatory, offensive or harassing behavior and speech.
  • are aware of their surroundings and their fellow human beings.

Unacceptable behaviour
Unacceptable behavior includes, but is not limited to, actions or speech that can be perceived as intimidating, harassing, insulting, discriminatory, offensive, or derogatory. This also includes inappropriate physical contact, unwanted sexual attention, persistent and disrespectful interruptions, and actions or comments related to gender, sexual orientation, cultural background, religion, or ability.

Offensive behavior is always assessed based on the recipient's perception of it. This can be words or actions that cause the person being subjected to it to feel violated.

Consequences of unacceptable behaviour
Unacceptable behavior by anyone working at Notam, including employees and those with decision-making authority, will not be tolerated. If someone is asked to stop unacceptable behavior, they are expected to comply immediately. If anyone working at or with Notam exhibits unacceptable behavior, Notam's management will take appropriate action. This may result in temporary or permanent exclusion from Notam.

If you witness or are subject to unacceptable behaviour
If you are exposed to, or witness unacceptable behavior, or have other concerns, please report it to Notam's management as soon as possible. Notam's management and employees are available to assist if anyone experiences unacceptable behavior, or feels unsafe. Channels for reporting unacceptable behavior can be found on our webpage, at the bottom of this page.
