As part of our collaborative sound based residency we will be hosting Lorenzo Colocci as Artist in Residency here at Notam. Colocci will be in residency for two weeks in October and on the 27th he will be sharing some of what he has been working on in a performance here at Notam.

Hours of visual material consisting of personal video, texture animation, bold experiments and various online sources, are controlled in real time through sound-driven processes, generating rapid, unpredictable transformations in rəsponse to audio energy. Lorenzo Colocci is a musician, composer, visual artist, and inventor; trained in classical flute, jazz composition, and arrangement, during his career, he has been working in a wide range of styles and fields such as improvisation, installation, electronic,s and performance. His rejection to utilize standard established tools and methods brought him to push boundaries experimenting and searching for new personal solutions in practical and conceptual ways. He creates his own sound path, improving his prototypes of extended flute (Flaubosax), no-input flute to broaden the sound possibilities beyond the physical limits of the instrument, exploring new musical possibilities.
