October 15th, 2027 we will be hosting a new edition of Notam Nights.

This evening the program will consist of a performance by Uniah (Una Aurora Venås), Gargoyles – a multichannel installation by Samuel Brzeski and a lecture performance by Kate Pendry.

When: Doors open at 17:30. The event starts at 18:00.

The artists

Kate Pendry 
Kate Pendry is an actress and playwright from London, now living and working in Oslo. Renowned for her political and controversial works, she has written and produced over fifty pieces for the theatre, alongside numerous electronic artworks and radio productions. Pendry’s signature use of dark humour and incisive social commentary has earned her a distinct reputation in the arts community.

Samuel Brzeski 
Samuel Brzeski (UK/NO) is an artist, writer and publisher working with language as raw material—moulding, stretching and transforming words on screens, on the page and within speech sound. At the heart of his work is a playful and performative use of voice; voice as carrier of rhythm, of vibration, of emotion; voice as the centre of the human self-experience of presence. Sometimes his works make more sound than sense. 

Samuel studied Literature at University of Sheffield, Art at Bergen Art Academy, and was a participant at Jan van Eyck Academie (Maastricht), Maumaus Independent Study Program (Lisbon) and The Mountain School of Arts (Los Angeles). As an extension of his practice, he runs Vibrational Semantics Press, publishing texts, scores, and sound works from creative practitioners who work with voice and language. Samuel is currently based between Bergen, Norway and Maastricht, Netherlands.

Una Aurora Venås
Through the artist project Uniah, Una Aurora Venås explores an intense fascination with dreaming. Voices, harp, noise textures, scenography, video, and drawing are among the elements that converge in her artistic expression. Over years of working with dreams, Una has drawn inspiration from lucid dreaming, sleep paralysis, hypnagogic hallucinations, dream memories, surreal wonderings, and reflections on reality and irreality. 

Over the past couple of years, Uniah has performed a number of concerts and shows across the country, and her two self-produced music videos Becoming a Ghost Film and Hallucia Film were both selected for the Grimstad Short Film Festival. Following the release of the EP Embody Nobody and the new single Hallucia, she has been mentioned in GAFFA Nykommer and Ballade.
