For å skyve på grensene for det mulige i dette feltet møtes en internasjonal gruppe av mennesker på Notams spatial audio meetups en gang i måneden for å utforske teknikker, arbeidsflyter, estetikk, ideer og lyder.

Notams Spatial Audio meetup er en møteplass for arbeid med kringlyd for kunstneriske formål. Her møter noen av verdens ledende eksperter og teknologer, nysgjerrige kunstnere og nybegynnere. Sammen utforsker de nye måter å uttrykke seg i kringlydsformater.

Zack Settel – WalkThruMusic

Zack Settel will explore an approach to “spatial audio”, better described as 3D sonic interaction, distinct from conventional 3DoF systems such as Ambisonics, Dolby Atmos, and Sony 360, with a focus on structured soundfields in the context of music creation, listening, and in between. This ongoing exploration has led to numerous productions as well as the development of the patented technology behind WalkThruMusic.

Zack Settel is a musician, audio technology innovator, Co-Founder and CTO of WalkThruMusic. He leads the development of a 6DoF “Depth Audio” platform that transforms songs into spatial ecosystems of instruments and voices. His work has consistently explored new forms of spatial and physical interaction with sound. With a background in live electronic music, including work at IRCAM on early Max/MSP and Pure Data systems, his practice has evolved over the past two decades from parametric sound processing toward 3D, movement-based approaches developed in environments such as Unity. This shift was driven in part by a desire to reconnect musical performance with physical gesture and space, leading to early systems in which sound was routed and transformed through performer movement. Since then, his work has focused on iterative cycles of creation and innovation centered on spatial interaction with music.

Mariam Gviniashvili er en lydkunstner og komponist som kombinerer elektronikk, elektroakustikk og 3D-lyd med visuelt materiale, dans og performance for å trenge inn i den fysiske og følelsesmessige essensen av lyd og rom.

Monica Bolles er kunstner, audioingeniør og komponist som benytter nye teknologier, vitenskap og design til å skape rom for utforskning av menneskelig erfaring i en verden i stadig utvikling og transformasjon. Gjennom sammenstilling av det organiske og det digitale, kunst og vitenskap, teknologi og menneskelighet, undersøker hub kontinuerlig på hva det vil si å være menneske i dagens samfunn.
