Course in studio technique

From October 15 through 19, Notam will be teaching a course in studio technique. The course is taught using the software Pro Tools, which is one of the standards for working with sound in various different fields such as music, radio, film soundtracks, sound art, composition and video arts. Through learning this tool, the course provides an introduction to basic studio technique.

The course requires no prior knowledge of Pro Tools. It will, however, also be useful to people who have worked with Pro Tools earlier and who would like to expand their knowledge of the program, and who would like an introduction to new functionality in version 10.

We will also give a review of the hardware in Notam’s studios, and additionally we will look at different portable recording devices and recording techniques.
