Schwarz-Johnson på Sound of Mu
The stage is set for an exciting encounter between two live electronic musicians of international standing at Sound of Mu on Tuesday January 25 at 8:30 p.m.
Diemo Schwarz is one of the leading figures within the live electronics field, and has developed a number of interesting audio processing tools for programming environments such as Max/MSP, among which FTM og CataRT are the most well-known. Musical projects include Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF) and theconcatenator.
Schwarz is based in Paris and is associated with IRCAM. He is in Oslo in connection with the Notam’s course Advanced synthesis and signal processing.
Victoria Johnson is Norway’s only researcher who specializes in the electric violin through a scholarship program for artistic development at the Norwegian Music academy. el-fiolin gjennom stipendprogrammet for kunstnerisk utviklingsarbeid på Norges musikkhøgskole, og jobber med live-elektronikk i både solo og kammermusikkformat. She works with CataRT and a motion-capture project in collaboration with Alexander Refsum Jensenius.
The concert is organized by Victoria Johnson in collaboration with Notam. Cato Langnes will be the sound engineer. Admission is free.
