Musical heritage conference

Friday December 9 at 10am, Notto and Jøran will talk about archiving, migration and computer music performance at the National Library, as part of the musical heritage conference which will dig into digital possibilities in regard to archiving.

“The digital arts and humanities are evolving at a breathtaking pace. Within music, this has opened up a spectrum of possibilities, from the strict and tradition-based editorial approaches of the publishing houses, to the newer emphasis upon experimental digital editions and artistic research in interplay with new multi-media resources.

Musikkarvkonferansen 2016 brings together examples from international institutions and colleagues with key institutions and their music researchers and artists in order to interrogate more deeply the spectrum of digital possibilities.

Key note speakers:

Elaine Chew – Professor of Digital Media & Pianist
School of Electronic Engineering and Computer Science, Queen Mary University of London

Johannes Kepper – Administrative Chair of the MEI Board
Beethovens Werkstatt, Musicological Institute Detmold / Paderborn
