Notam is seeking our next director

Notam – Norwegian center for technology in music and art – has since 1992 been working to develop technology and understanding of technology in the fields professional music and the arts. The center plays an important role in the Norwegian art scene and the international music community. Notam provides technical support to musicians and artists and is developing new music. Notam is organized as a foundation and currently has 5.7 employeess in 4 full-time and 5 part-time positions. Since 2012, Notam is located in fresh renovated premises at Myrens verksted in Sandakerveien.

Our current Director’s term expires in 2017, and we seek his successor.

RESPONSIBILITIES
The director has overall academic, artistic and administrative responsibility for Notam. This involves strategic planning, monitoring of national and international collaborations, governance, dialogue with public authorities and responsibilities of the center’s funding, finances and daily operations.

The director has personal responsibility for the employees and is responsible for hiring. The manager is the secretary of the foundation’s board, reports to the board and is responsible for following up decisions taken by the board.

Other tasks include the development of cooperations in research and education, application writing and the implementation and reporting of projects.

EXPERIENCE AND BACKGROUND
We want a general manager with relevant education and/or experience in the art- and cultural administration or -management. Knowledge of one or more of the following areas is an advantage: Technology Based music and art, audio and music technology and international cooperation in the professional art world.

The position is a fixed term of four years and has the possibility of extension. Notam follows the staff manual and employees have pension according to KLP. Salary by agreement.

Working hours are daytime, but some evening and weekend work and travel will be required. Personal suitability is emphasized. The job can also be adapted to fit the right person. Work place is Oslo.
