Workshop // Behzad Khosravi Noori – Five Seconds of Silence

Behzad Khosravi-Noori will discuss the notion of translatability in relation to state apparatuses, arguing for microhistory in connection to hyper-politicized time, place and body from an individual level through to the structural in artistic praxis.
The relationships between inside and outside, them and us, here and there are complex and multifaceted. Following on from his talk the previous evening at Kunstnernes Hus, Behzad Khosravi-Noori will lead this workshop that will use “metalogues” and “reenactments” as methods of investigation. The group will attempt to elaborate on this complexity to challenge the relationship between the actor and spectator, which creates a complication that could be both impalpable and disturbing.
Metalogues: (Gregory Bateson’s term for) an explanatory dialogue which in form, structure, or manner conveys something about the problem being discussed. Hence: any kind of conversation exhibiting this characteristic. – Oxford Dictionary
Behzad Khosravi-Noori (1976, Tehran) is an artist and writer based in Stockholm and Tehran. By using micro history as a method of exploration, his research based work investigates cultural phenomena and political representation within hyper-politicised time, place, and body within the realm contemporary art. Khosravi-Noori graduated from the Tarbiat Modares University in Tehran, with a Master in Motion Picture and a Master in Art in Public Realm at Konstfack University College of Art and Design, Stockholm. Currently he is a PhD Candidate at Konstfack within the department of Fine Art.
